Global construction aggregates demand will rise 2.9 percent annually through 2013. The Asia/Pacific market will lead gains and claim most new demand. More stringent environmental laws will favor recycled and secondary products such as blast furnace slag and crushed hydraulic concrete.

This study analyzes the 24.9 billion metric ton world construction aggregates industry. It presents historical demand data for the years 1998, 2003 and 2008, and forecasts for 2013 and 2018 by aggregate type (e.g., crushed stone, sand, gravel), construction market (nonbuilding, nonresidential, residential), application (e.g., hydraulic concrete, road base and coverings, asphaltic concrete), world region and for 18 countries.

The study also considers market environment factors, details industry structure, evaluates company market share and profiles 33 industry players, including HeidelbergCement, CEMEX and Lafarge.
