Large diameter pipe demand in the US will reach $8.7 billion in 2010 based on needs to expand and modernize an aging pipe infrastructure. Concrete pipe will remain the dominant type due to material advantages, while plastic pipe will present the best growth as a result of resin and machinery improvements.

This study analyzes the 191 million foot US large diameter pipe industry. It presents historical demand data for 1995, 2000 and 2005 and forecasts to 2010 and 2015 by large diameter pipe market (e.g., storm sewers, drainage and irrigation, water distribution, sanitary sewers, natural gas, petroleum, process industries); and by material (e.g., concrete, plastic, steel, clay).

The study also considers market environment indicators, details industry structure, evaluates company market share and profiles 45 leading industry participants including Hanson Pipe and Precast, Rinker Materials, Advanced Drainage Systems, J-M Manufacturing, and McWane.
