US demand for wood panels will decline 1.1 percent annually through 2010, restrained by a weak single family housing market. Best prospects will occur in smaller segments such as new nonresidential building and construction improvements and repairs. Nonstructural panels will see marginal increases based on a brighter outlook for manufacturing.

This study analyzes the $18.2 billion US wood panel industry. It presents historical demand data for 1995, 2000 and 2005 and forecasts to 2010 and 2015 by product (e.g., oriented strand board, softwood plywood, particleboard, medium density fiberboard, hardwood plywood, hardboard); by end-use market (e.g., construction, manufacturing); by application (e.g., roofing, flooring, wall sheathing, cabinets); and by US geographic region.

The study also considers market environment factors, details industry structure, evaluates company market share and profiles 28 major industry players including Georgia-Pacific, Weyerhaeuser, Louisiana-Pacific, Norbord, Roseburg Forest Products, and International Paper.
