Global demand for fluid handling pumps will increase 4.4 percent annually through 2012. Developing areas such as China and India will offer strong growth prospects. Centrifugal pumps will remain the largest pump type, though diaphragm pumps and turbine pumps will post the most rapid gains. Utilities will exhibit the fastest growth among major pump markets.

This study analyzes the $37.7 billion world pump industry. It presents historical demand data (1997, 2002, 2007) and forecasts for 2012 and 2017 by pump type (e.g., centrifugal, positive displacement), market (e.g., utilities, process manufacturers), world region (e.g., Asia/Pacific, Western Europe, North America) and for 35 major countries.

The study also considers market environment factors, details industry structure, evaluates company market share and profiles 33 industry players, including ITT, Flowserve and Grundfos.
