US demand for personal mobility devices will grow five percent annually through 2010. The aging population will benefit wheelchairs and related products, especially powered scooters and lifts. Commercial vehicles will lead gains among other devices as golf cars and in-plant personnel carriers are adapted for general commercial use.

This study analyzes the $2.4 billion US personal mobility device industry. It presents historical demand data (1995, 2000 and 2005) and forecasts to 2010 and 2015 by product (e.g., wheelchairs, powered scooters, lifts, golf cars, in-plant personnel carriers, commercial vehicles, trams, manlifts) and by market (e.g., health care, leisure and recreational, industrial, commercial).

The study also considers market environment factors, details industry structure, evaluates company market share and profiles 37 major producers including Invacare, Pride Mobility Products, Sunrise Medical, Club Car, E-Z-GO Textron, and Yamaha Motor.
