The US specialty surfactants market will reach $3.4 billion in 2009. Personal care products will post the fastest market gains driven by liquid soaps, product differentiation and milder formulations. Amphoteric and anionic surfactants will offer the best opportunities. Fluorosurfactants will grow the fastest, albeit from a small base.

This study analyzes the 1.6 million pound US specialty surfactant industry. It presents historical demand data for 1994, 1999 and 2004 and forecasts to 2009 and 2014 by specialty surfactant market (e.g., household and industrial cleaning products, personal care products, manufacturing); and by product (e.g., cationic, nonionic, anionic, silicone, amphoteric, fluorosurfactant).

The study also considers market environment indicators, evaluates company market share, and profiles 35 leading producers including Stepan, BASF, Rhodia, Akzo Nobel, Procter & Gamble, Degussa, Cognis, Uniqema, Dow Chemical, Clariant, Huntsman, and Unilever.
