High-Temperature Plastics: United States

This report forecasts US high-temperature plastics demand in pounds and US dollars at the manufacturers' level to 2017. Total demand in dollars is segmented by resin in terms of fluoropolymers, sulfone polymers, polyimides, polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), and other resins. Total demand in dollars is also segmented by market as follows: electrical and electronic, industrial, transportation equipment, medical, and other markets.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in an annual series from 2002 to 2012; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2007 and 2012. An Industry Overview section defines resin and market segments, discusses market drivers and constraints, and provides pertinent background on competitive materials and regulatory and environmental issues.

A Demand Forecasts section assesses the impact of key drivers and constraints on each resin and market segment over the forecast period.

Further analysis includes an Industry Structure section, which surveys the supply base and profiles the leading suppliers competing to serve US demand. A one-page, introductory Highlights section summarizes key findings from this 25-page report, and a Resources section lists contributing sources as well as resources available for further research.
