This report forecasts US pharmaceutical shipments and demand in US dollars at the manufacturers' level to 2020. Total shipments and demand are segmented by therapeutic class in terms of: central nervous system, hormones and related, vaccines and blood derivatives, anti-infective, respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, nutritional, dermatological, and other pharmaceuticals. Total shipments and demand are also segmented by distribution class as follows: ethical and over-the-counter. In addition, total shipments and demand are segmented by commercial status in terms of: proprietary and generic.

To illustrate historical trends, total shipments, total demand, and the various segments are provided in annual series from 2005 to 2015.
