Upstream Oil & Gas: United States
This report forecasts to 2018 US crude oil and natural gas exploration and production (E&P) activities in terms of crude oil production (in barrels), natural gas production (in cubic feet), producing wells (number of wells), wells drilled (number of wells), and active drilling rigs (number of rigs). Producing wells are segmented by resource in terms of oil and gas. Wells drilled are segmented by trajectory as follows: vertical and horizontal. Active drilling rigs are segmented by location in terms of onshore and offshore.
To illustrate historical trends, crude oil production and natural gas production are provided in an annual series from 2003 to 2013; the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2008 and 2013. A Market Environment section provides pertinent background on historical industry size and trends, key economic indicators, and technology trends. An Overview and Forecasts section defines E&P activities, discusses industry drivers and constraints, identifies substitute products when applicable, and assesses the impact of key drivers and constraints on each E&P activity segment over the forecast period.
Further analysis includes an Industry Structure section, which surveys the supply base and profiles the leading firms competing in the US industry. A one-page, introductory Highlights section summarizes key findings from this 28-page report, and a Resources section lists contributing sources as well as resources available for further research.
