Roofing in China

Demand for roofing materials in China will rise 4.4 percent annually, outpacing all other major economies in the world. Concrete and clay tiles and bituminous roofing will remain the dominant types, while elastomeric and plastic membranes lead gains. The nonresidential building market will grow more rapidly than the residential segment.

This study analyzes the 40 billion Chinese roofing industry. It presents historical demand data for 1995, 2000 and 2005 and forecasts to 2010 and 2015 by product type (e.g., concrete and clay tile, bituminous, elastomeric); by market (new residential, residential reroofing, new nonresidential, nonresidential reroofing); and by region (e.g., Central-North, Central-East, Northwest).

The study also considers market environment factors, details industry structure, evaluates company market share and profiles 32 major producers including China Petroleum & Chemical, China National Building Material, Beijing Building Materials Group, Shanghai Waterproof Building Materials, and Tianjin Bitumen Membrane Factory.
