This report forecasts US diesel engine demand and shipments in US dollars at the manufacturers' level to 2017. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of engines and parts. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: off-highway and other mobile equipment, medium- and heavy-duty (MD/HD) trucks and buses, light vehicles, and stationary equipment.
To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in an annual series from 2002 to 2012; shipments and the various demand segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2007 and 2012. An Industry Overview section defines products and markets; discusses market drivers and constraints; identifies substitute products when applicable; and provides pertinent background on environmental and regulatory factors, emissions control technology, competing and related technologies, and NAFTA demand.
