The most complete record of open access book publishing in academic and scholarly publishing is the Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) founded in 2012 as a service of the OAPEN Foundation. The OAPEN Foundation is an international initiative dedicated to Open Access monograph publishing, based at the National Library in The Hague. The directory is limited to academic, peer-reviewed books available open access that meet academic standards.
