Studies show that Millennials and Gen Z  seek experiences.

And with the school year entering its final stretch, young consumers (whether kids or their Millennial moms) are already starting to think about something interesting to do this summer.

Enter the equine industry.

Mapping the opportunities for kids to ride horses

The American Horse Council Marketing Alliance’s TimeToRide.com website has an interactive map to help consumers find lessons and camps around the country. The council launched TakeMeRiding.com in 2014 to encourage riding for children ages 5 to 9, and runs the annual Time to Ride Challenge to introduce newcomers to horses.

Even research from the American Camp Association (ACA) shows that some 34% of camps in the U.S. offer horseback riding – still quite the selling point for many consumers.

Horseback riding among kids a stimulus for equine industry growth

All this equine activity bodes well for the equine industry.  Horseback riding at a young age is just the kind of stimulus the equine industry needs for growth.  Encouraging a love of horses at an early age could spur on future expenditures on horses, including leases and ownership.
