Nonbuilding and commercial building construction to stoke gains
Cleveland, OH, December 22, 2023 — Construction aggregates demand in the US is forecast to climb 1.6% yearly in volume terms through 2027, according to Construction Aggregates: United States, a report recently released by Freedonia Focus Reports. Suppliers will benefit from growth in real (inflation-adjusted) nonbuilding and commercial building construction; anticipated declines in real residential building construction will prevent faster advances.
Demand for crushed stone – the leading product segment – is forecast to rise 1.6% annually to 2027. Growth will be supported by 1.2% annual gains in real construction expenditures. Real expenditures on transportation infrastructure construction are expected to grow 3.2% annually to 2027 – road transportation uses high volumes of crushed stone – supported by the passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in November 2021, which included $110 billion in funding for roads, bridges, and other major surface transportation projects.
