This report forecasts to 2026 US converted flexible packaging demand in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: meat, poultry, and seafood ; snack food; baked goods; fresh produce; other food and beverage applications, such as candy, frozen food, and dairy products; pharmaceuticals; and other nonfood markets such as pet food, medical products, and chemicals.

Flexible packaging is defined as packaging made of flexible or easily yielding materials that can readily change shape – even when filled or closed. Flexible packaging is produced from paper, plastic film, aluminum foil, or any combination of these materials. Products made from mixed materials are categorized by their primary material. For instance, a foil-lined plastic bag would be considered a plastic bag.

Converted flexible packaging generally consists of a single ply or multiple plies of flexible material that are laminated together by an adhesive system. Coextruded, oriented, and metalized plastic film is also included. Paper includes all grades and finishes of paper, but excludes paperboard and molded pulp.

This report focuses on primary and secondary packaging and excludes most bulk and transit packaging. Specific products excluded from the scope of this report include: foodservice disposable packaging, such as sandwich wrap or stretch wrap; household and institutional plastic storage bags; flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs); mailing envelopes (mailers); money bags; pallet wrap; paper yard waste and refuse sacks; protective packaging, such as bubble packaging or paper fill; retail, grocery, and novelty bags and sacks; rollstock; sausage casings; shrink sleeve and other labels; stretch and shrink film for transport packaging; tape; and trash bags.

Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
