This report forecasts to 2025 global demand for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment by product, market, and major world region in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level. Product segments include: room air conditioners; heat pumps; unitary air conditioners; central heating boilers; warm air furnaces; and other products such as absorption chillers, dehumidifiers, liquid chillers, and packaged terminal air conditioners. Reported markets encompass: residential and nonresidential. Major world regions include North America, Western Europe, Asia/Pacific, and all other regions.
To illustrate historical trends, world, product, market, and regional demand (including product and market segments) are provided for 2010, 2015, and 2020. Finally, global shipments are segmented by major world region and provided for 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025.
Excluded from the scope of this report are: portable versions of equipment such as air conditioners, heaters, dehumidifiers, and humidifiers; sanitary hot water heat pumps; heat pumps used to solely produce hot water, to heat pools, or to provide refrigeration; products associated with combined heat and power generation systems; ventilation systems, including air handlers and ductwork; fluid circulation systems, including radiators used with boilers; used and rental equipment; and equipment used in vehicles.
For any given historical year, US dollar amounts are obtained from values expressed in the applicable local currency. These local currency values are converted to US dollars at the average annual exchange rate for that year. For forecast years, the US dollar amounts assume the same annual exchange rate as that prevailing in 2020.
