Above average gains in developing countries to support increases
Cleveland, OH, June 24, 2024 — Global pools and spas in use in unit terms are expected to increase 1.5% yearly through 2027, according to Global Pools & Spas, a report recently released by Freedonia Focus Reports. Global sales of pools and spas are projected to rise 3.1% per year in unit terms over the 2023-2027 period. Gains will be driven by:
increasing population migration to warmer climates where outdoor living seasons are longer in developed markets such as the US
rising incomes globally, including many developing countries with large, upwardly mobile populations, such as Brazil, China, and Turkey
expanding tourism and hospitality sectors in both developed and developing markets
product and technology innovation lowering the upfront cost of new pool and spa installations as well as long-term maintenance costs
The Asia/Pacific region will continue to represent the largest regional market, supported by the key Chinese market due to rising incomes and related investment in recreational facilities, such as public swimming pools, aquatics facilities, and amusement parks. However, further advances will be restrained by below-average growth in the large, mature US and West European markets.
These and other key insights are featured in Global Pools & Spas. This report forecasts to 2027 global pools and spas in use by product and major world region, and global pools and spas sales by region in units. Product segments include:
pools

Major world regions include North America, Western Europe, Asia/Pacific, and all other regions.
To illustrate historical trends, world, product, and regional (including product segments) in use, and world and regional sales are provided for 2012, 2017, and 2022.
