Private Label Credit Card Acquisition Influencers
Having a private label credit card (PLCC) boosts brand partner engagement. Per Packaged Facts proprietary survey results, almost 4 in 10 PLCC users say that they make more trips to the store and spend more per trip because they have these cards, with another 3 in 10 saying they shop at the store more often but their spend per trip stays the same.
And while one more PLCC-only program seems to be converted every week, almost two-thirds of PLCC users say using the card solely at the brand partner boost interest in applying for the card. They believe the store-only usage limitation comes with higher, more targeted store-specific rewards.
And folks love an upfront (impulse-driven?) acquisition discount: 57% of credit card users say they would be at least somewhat likely to apply for a store credit card if they were offered a 20% discount at checkout. This percentage rises to 68% among PLCC users. But almost half of credit card users without PLCCs also say they would be interested.
