Cement: United States Report

Report Overview

This report forecasts to 2029 US cement demand and production in metric tons. Total demand is segmented by product in terms of: portland cement, blended cement, and specialty cement. Total demand is also segmented by end user as follows: ready-mix concrete, concrete product manufacturers, consumers, and other end users such as military and defense, decorative uses, and hazardous waste disposal.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2019 to 2024; production and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2019 and 2024.

Portland cement can be used as-is or can be used to produce blended cements.

Blended cement is made by combining portland cement clinker or finished portland cement with mineral additives including fly ash, slag, and silica fume.

Specialty cement is made from materials other than portland cement, such as potassium silicate, gravel or crushed stone, or a fine aggregate like sand.
