Elevators: China

Report Overview

This report forecasts to 2028 elevator equipment and services demand and equipment production in nominal US dollars at the manufacturer level in China. Total demand is segmented by type in terms of: passenger and freight elevators, escalators and moving walkways, elevator parts and separately sold products, installation services, and modernization and repair services. Total demand is also segmented by market as follows: residential and nonresidential.

To illustrate historical trends, total demand is provided in annual series from 2018 to 2023; equipment production and the various segments are reported at five-year intervals for 2018 and 2023.

For the purposes of this report, general references to elevators or the elevator market include escalators and moving walkways, parts, and services, while elevators themselves, often referred to as lifts in European publications, are described as passenger and freight elevators. Products beyond the scope of this report include aerial work platforms (man lifts), chair lifts, and conveyor systems used for the transport of goods.

For any given historical year, US dollar amounts are obtained from values expressed in the applicable local currency. These local currency values are converted to US dollars at the average annual exchange rate for that year. For forecast years, the US dollar amounts assume the same annual exchange rate as that prevailing in 2023.

Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
