Mining & Quarrying: United States

Focus Reports, United States

Report Overview

This report forecasts to 2021 and 2025 US mining and quarrying materials handled in metric tons. Total material handled is segmented by targeted resource in terms of: mineral ores and waste (stone; sand and gravel; and other minerals such as phosphate rock, gypsum, industrial clay, and salt) and metal ores and waste (gold; iron; copper; and other metals such as lead, lithium, magnesium, tin, and zinc).

To illustrate historical trends, total materials handled, the various segments, and trade are provided in annual series from 2010-2020.

Material handled refers to the excavated volumes of metal ores, industrial minerals, and waste. Mining and quarrying for fuel sources (e.g., coal) are excluded from the scope of this report, as are oil and gas extraction. Re-exports of mined materials and waste are excluded from the scope of this report.

Key macroeconomic indicators are also provided with quantified trends. Other various topics, including profiles of pertinent leading companies, are covered in this report. A full outline of report items by page is available in the Table of Contents.
