Trends in Dog Waste Management Products: United States Report

Report Overview

This report forecasts to 2029 US dog waste management product retail sales in nominal US dollars. To illustrate historical trends, US dog waste management product retail sales are provided for 2019 and 2024, with projections for 2025 and 2029.

This report analyzes the US market for dog waste management products sold at retail, including mass-market outlets (supercenters, mass merchandisers, supermarkets, warehouse clubs, drugstores, dollar stores), pet specialty stores (chains and independents), and online. The report focuses on:

• puppy/training pads and accessories, including training pad alternatives and pet diapers
• dog waste bags

Specifically excluded from the scope of this report are durable cleanup products – such as litter boxes, scoops, and durable dog waste product accessories – as they are included in Packaged Facts’ March 2024 report Durable Dog and Cat Petcare Products, 5th Edition. This report also excludes small animal litter used for bedding and/or grazing, which is covered in Packaged Facts’ June 2025 release Fish, Small Mammal, Herptile, & Bird Products, 5th Edition. Also excluded are:

• cat litter and non-durable litter accessories, including disposable litter mats, litter additives, and waste bags intended for litter
• pet cleanup and odor control preparations (including stain-removal sprays, liquids, wipes, and concentrates and odor control sprays, powders, foams, crystals, and other formats)

General cleanup and odor control products that are not marketed as pet-specific are considered only as a point of comparison.

Freedonia quantifies trends in various measures of growth and volatility. Growth calculated as a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) employs, by definition, only the first and last datapoints over a period. The CAGR is used to describe forecast growth, defined as the expected trend beginning in the base year and ending in the forecast year. Readers are encouraged to consider historical volatility when assessing particular annual values along the forecast trend, including in the forecast year.
