Home Organization Products

8th Edition

Home organization products used in garages and closets continue to account for the largest share of demand and are expected to drive the market through 2023, supported by the proliferation of higher value modular units.

Higher value products will support gains across all rooms, including more aesthetically pleasing products used in high traffic areas and specialty products used in such rooms as kitchens and pantries.

Key niche opportunities, outside of garages and closets, include a growing interest in organizing utility rooms and the outdoor living movement.

This study analyzes the US market for home organization products. This includes purchases made by consumers, including those intended for use in self-storage facilities. Garage cabinets are included only if they are part of a garage modular system.

Demand for home organization products is examined by product and market in US dollars at the manufacturers’ level, unless noted otherwise (as in the Retail Market chapter). Historical data for 2008, 2013, and 2018 and forecasts for 2023 are presented in current dollars (which are not adjusted to account for inflation).
