Demand for roofing accessories is closely linked to roofing activity demand, and weather-related reroofing plays a key role in supporting roofing accessories use.

Roofing Accessories

This study analyzes US roofing accessories demand by product, market, and subregion – in value terms in US dollars. For selected products – underlayment, roofing compounds, and cover boards – demand is also presented in million squares. Fastener demand is provided in billion units, with flashing demand presented in million linear feet.

Roofing accessories demand is segmented into the following product types:

  • roofing underlayment (asphaltic and synthetic)
  • roofing compounds (including liquid-applied roofing coatings, or LARCs; adhesives and primers; and sealants, caulks, mastics, and other products)
  • fasteners (including nails, screws, rivets, bolts, staples, clamps, fastener plates and washers, and clips)
  • cover boards (gypsum, polyiso, perlite, mineral wool, fiberglass, wood fibreboard, and asphaltic)
  • flashing (including metal, asphaltic, and plastic products, as well as flashing tape)
  • other accessories (drains, vents, stacks, battens, walkways, snow and ice guards, and green roofing system components)

The study also presents average product prices (at the manufacturers’ level) for selected major product types for the relevant unit of measurement (e.g., dollars per square for roofing underlayment).
