Increasing manufacturers’ shipments, retail sales to spur longer-term growth
Cleveland, OH, May 23, 2023 — Revenues generated by US warehousing and storage service establishments are forecast to rise 2.6% yearly in nominal dollars through 2027, according to Warehousing & Storage Services: United States, a report recently released by Freedonia Focus Reports. Advances will be driven by projected gains in manufacturers’ shipments and retail sales. Faster gains will be restrained by continuing competition from substitute services like Fulfillment by Amazon, which effectively offers warehousing and storage for free as a consequence of its fulfillment and delivery services.
Revenues are forecast to grow less than 1.0% in 2023. Growth will be restrained by declines in the space needed by retailers that were overstocked due to supply chain issues in 2021 and 2022. Slower growth will also result from losses in the farm product segment, due to lower beginning stocks.
These and other key insights are featured in Warehousing & Storage Services: United States. This report forecasts to 2023 and 2027 US warehousing and storage service revenues in nominal US dollars. Total demand is segmented by type in terms of:
